Dear LegendaryTones
Readers,
All of us have felt numerous emotions surrounding the BP Gulf spill tragedy.
Even with the cap fitted on the oil well, it remains an enormous cleanup
effort and many organizations like the National Wildlife Federation and
Audubon society are working tirelessly to take care of the impacted wildlife
in the region. To people outside of these organizations, the task at hand
seems so large, so distant, and yet we wonder about what we can do to help.
My band Luxx thought about this and together we wrote the song “Black Water”
as a response to express our group’s own frustration over the tragedy. And
through the song, we've decided to take yet another step forward – turning a
negative situation into whatever we could to play a positive role in the
clean up efforts.
This is why Luxx is making “Black Water” available for sale on ReverbNation
today and will donate ALL of the net proceeds between the
National Wildlife Federation and
Audubon Society. The members of Luxx
remain passionate about the cleanup efforts and will continue this campaign
as long as help is needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We hope that
you will join us in contributing to this worthwhile cause.
All the Best!
David Szabados
P.S. I'll cover the guitar
gear used for recording "Black Water" in a future story here at
LegendaryTones. Needless to say, I went for a big and heavy guitar
sound/tone for this one!

Bay Area Musicians Launch Campaign to Clean
Wildlife Impacted by Gulf Disaster
CUPERTINO, Calif. – July 26, 2010 – As the world watches the events unfold
of the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, bay area rock group
Luxx has launched a creative campaign to help clean up the gulf.
The group has written a song, “Black Water” and made it available on
ReverbNation
today for download. All 100% of the net proceeds of the single's sales (just
99 cents per download on secure payment site) will go toward helping the
impacted wildlife in the gulf. Contributions will be divided between two
organizations that are actively involved in the effort: the National
Wildlife Federation and the Audubon Society.
“The size and scale of the gulf disaster are so large, one can feel helpless
wondering about how to make a difference,” said David Szabados, spokesman
and guitarist for Luxx. “But the truth of the matter is that taking action
is the key. The National Wildlife Federation and Audubon Society are working
tirelessly to help the creatures in need and it’s imperative that we do
whatever we can to support them. We hope this is the easiest 99 cents anyone
will ever spend to support this cause.”
“Black Water” is available today to download at the band's
